Founder's Corner

From the Desk of Crystal Kauffman

Thank you for taking the time to stop by our website. For five years, I have dreamed of expanding my support group and community into a legal non-profit organization. I am excited to announce that my dream came true on November 25, 2006, when I registered the Laugh at Cancer Organization Inc. with the State of Florida as a non-profit charity or a (501) (3) (c). However, I am still working on registering with the IRS, which will take time.

Today, we have created many projects that are planting seeds of hope in every family we meet. Personally, I am humbled by the outpouring our love and passion that many families have shown towards me and my vision. In addition, I honestly appreciate the many contributions from every member, supporter, visitors, and volunteers. Therefore, I would like to invite you to help us make a difference in the lives of families facing cancer.

Meaning of Our Name

I named the Laugh at Cancer Organization Inc. for many different reasons, yet these are the main ones. First, I wanted this non-profit organization to focus on the celebration life, no matter what each of us face as a family. Second, as I grew up, my grandfather taught me to laugh when times got rough and never give up on myself.

Third, I wanted this community to be a positive place for members and visitors to come for support or encouragement throughout his or her journey. Finally, don't let cancer steal your laughter, because together we can make a difference by helping one family at a time. Therefore, these are the main reasons for my choice in naming this non-profit organization.
